What started as a creative experiment became something I couldn't stop thinking about.
For years, I was searching for a hobby that felt different.
I didn't want to make something perfect. I didn't want another activity that came with pressure, expectations, or the feeling that I needed to be good at it.
I wanted a place to play.
I picked up a needle and some embroidery floss simply because I needed something creative and low-stakes. Something I could do slowly. Something I could carry with me.
What I didn't expect was how quickly those tiny stitches began to tell a story.
At first, I stitched simple doodles.
A flower from a hike. A constellation from a camping trip. A tiny reminder of a season I didn't want to forget.
Then the stitching started spreading.
Across the cuffs. Around the collar. Along the shoulders.
The sweatshirt became a sketchbook.
A journal.
A collection of memories.
And because I was wearing it while I lived those moments, it became something even more meaningful.
I realized I wasn't just decorating clothing.
I was creating a piece of my own history.
That's where the idea for the Wearable Journal was born.
I wanted to create something that combined creativity, storytelling, and slow fashion into one experience.
Something that encouraged us to slow down long enough to make something with our hands.
Something that reminded us that creativity doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful.
And something we could wear long after the moment had passed.
Walldorf Designs exists to create those opportunities.

I hope they become artifacts.
Proof that you were here.
Proof that you made something.

And maybe that's my favorite part of all of this.
These journals are never really finished.
